Your data, handled carefully
This policy explains what information RockfordGO collects, why we collect it, and how it is used and protected. Last updated September 25, 2026.
When you create an account or book a ride with RockfordGO, we collect the information needed to provide our service: your name, phone number, email address, and the pickup and drop-off locations you enter.
We collect precise location data while you are using the app so we can set your pickup spot, match you with the nearest driver, and show your driver's approach on the map. You can change this permission at any time in your phone's settings; without it, we cannot accurately match or track your ride.
For riders paying by card, payment details are collected and processed by our payment provider. RockfordGO never stores your full card number. For cash payments, we keep records of fares owed to drivers so the platform can settle balances correctly.
If you apply to drive with RockfordGO, we collect the documents you upload during registration (such as your driver's license, vehicle registration, and insurance) so we can verify you are eligible to carry passengers. These are reviewed by our team and are not shown to other users.
We keep standard technical records: device identifiers, app version, push-notification tokens used to alert you about ride events, and support messages you send us.
We use your information to book and manage your rides, assign and route drivers, process payments and wallet transactions, send you ride updates and alerts by text or push notification, provide customer support, and keep the service safe by investigating fraud, abuse, and disputes.
Drivers see the information needed to complete a trip: your first name, pickup address, and drop-off address. Drivers never receive your phone number directly — any contact between you and your driver happens through the app while the trip is active.
We may use aggregated, de-identified data to understand demand, improve coverage in the areas we serve, and set fair pricing. We do not sell your personal information.
Your information is shared only as needed to run the service: with the driver assigned to your ride, with payment processors to complete transactions, with messaging and notification providers to deliver alerts, and with cloud hosting providers that store our data securely.
We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of RockfordGO, our users, and the public.
If RockfordGO is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active, and trip, payment, and support records for as long as needed to meet accounting, tax, and legal requirements. Documents uploaded by drivers are retained for as long as the driver account is active or pending approval.
You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us. We will delete what we can and tell you if any records must be kept for legal reasons.
You can review and update your name, phone number, and other account details in the app. You can turn off location permission in your phone's settings, though this limits booking and live trip tracking.
You may opt out of non-essential notifications in the app's notification settings. We may still send you messages needed for an active trip, such as your verification code or your driver's arrival.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to certain uses. Contact us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
We protect your data using industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections for all traffic, access controls limited to staff who need it, and secure storage of sensitive records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take protecting your information seriously and investigate any reported issue promptly.
RockfordGO is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account with us, contact us and we will remove it.
Parents should book rides for minors on their behalf and remain responsible for their children during trips.
We may update this policy as the service changes. When we make material changes, we will post the new version here and update the date below. Continuing to use RockfordGO after a change means you accept the updated policy.
